For the nineteenth day of Country Music #CMchat’s 25 Days of Country Christmas, we bring you three country “kings,” three musical “wise men,” three of the genre’s most recognizable names … and we bring them to you with some seriously notable hairdos.
Lightyears ago (back when the year started with “19”), during Kenny Rogers’ Keep Christmas with You special, Rogers shared the stage with Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood to perform “The Old Man’s Back in Town” for a room full of excited children. A song that clearly draws its influences from the rock genre, Rogers, Brooks, and Yearwood lent their twangy vocals and gave way to their inner rockers to appropriately accompany the electric guitars.
Aside from singing together, the three superstars appear to be having a blast collaborating on this holiday tune, sharing a page of lyrics and exchanging glowing smiles with one another. Throughout the video, the children on the set can be seen dancing, playing air guitars, and having the time of their lives. However, this should come as no surprise, considering the monumental live event they are seeing right before their very eyes.
The question of the hour is: How do we get a collaboration from these three in this century? Dear Santa, that’s really all I want for Christmas this year.
