In honor of Armed Forces Day, the ACMs gathered some of country music’s biggest names to salute our troops. Dierks Bentley, Lee Brice, Luke Bryan, Merle Haggard, Hunter Hayes, Toby Keith, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, Kellie Pickler, Blake Shelton, George Strait, Keith Urban, Eli Young Band, Florida Georgia Line, Lady Antebellum, Rascal Flatts and The Band Perry will be paying tribute to our country’s all-volunteer military force in a two-hour CBS special, airing tonight at 9:00pm ET.
Carrie Underwood co-wrote a song specifically for the Academy’s military tribute show, ACM Presents: An All-Star Salute to the Troops. Carrie’s performance of “Keep Us Safe” will debut tonight and the song will be available digitally with proceeds benefiting ACM Lifting Lives®. Carrie shared:
When we were approached to be a part of the show, I was so excited to do something to honor our troops, and because ACM Lifting Lives does such great work. I wanted to take the time to really think about what song I wanted to perform. I had a writing session scheduled with my co-writers and friends Hillary Lindsey, Luke Laird and Shane McAnally, and I guess the show was weighing on my mind. I think we all left the session knowing the song was special because it basically wrote itself that day!
Tune in tonight to CBS at 9:00pm ET to see some of your favorite artists pay homage to the American troops and offer your support as well.
