Originally from New Mexico, Alex Stern pulls from her roots in every song and this one is no different. But this has a unique feel to it because honestly, it’s her best song yet. It’s a nod to that old love that we’ve all experienced and the one thing Alex does unbelievably well is telling a story. This song will be put on repeat as soon as you hear it and is not only geared for radio, but for fans.
When asked about “Dreamin’” in a press release, she was quick to say how much she wanted it to relate to fans,
“I wanted to capture the real emotions of nostalgia and regret I had felt when writing the track. In releasing a song with such personal lyrics, I wanted to truthfully share my heart with listeners so they would be able to relate it to their own similar situations.”
“Dreamin’” starts off slow and just has a little bit of guitar mixed with Alex Stern’s vocals. Then the chorus builds and you realize how great her sound is. You have a little guitar riff in the background that adds many levels to the song. Once you get halfway through the song, you realize that you don’t want it to end.
If this is any indication of where this girl is going then trust me- you need to hop on the bandwagon.
