The Listening Room Cafe: Allie Colleen and Carly Rogers

I spent my weekend listening to some incredible artists at The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville, TN. One round, in particular, stood out to me. It was the first round and I had just ordered a coffee. That’s when Allie Colleen started to sing and I almost choked. This girl has it. That’s all I could really think as she sang her original “Sandpaper People.” A bold look into how people change you but most of the time, “they leave you better off.”

She also captured the audience with another original, “Close Enough.” This song has such a unique feel and the lyrics fit together magically. She’s one of the best songwriters I’ve ever heard perform live and I can’t wait to hear more music from her!

Carly Rogers brought it. She has this Miranda Lambert vibe to her and it’s obvious she knows who she is and she won’t change for anyone. That’s what drew me to her. “Love Last Night” was one song that stuck out to me because it was pure country and old school. She even kicked her boots up at the end, which I thought was totally a Carly move.

She is so authentic and sticks to her true self. When you see Carly in concert you’ll know why you’re so drawn to her.

The Listening Room Cafe is a place where people can come together and enjoy fantastic acoustic performances. I love each and every timeĀ I step through those doors because I know I’ll leave a fan of someone brand new.
