It seems every time we turn around there is another awards show recognizing the top talent in country music today. What may not be understood is that these awards are quite different.
The ACA awards will air live tonight. They are the only completely fan voted show, giving other stars a chance at the top prize. The ACAs recognize unique categories such as Touring Artist for someone that delivers an incredible stage performance and top box office figures. This years awards, bound to be exciting like the past 3, will be hosted by Danica Patrick and Trace Adkins and broadcast on Fox tomorrow at 8pmET.
“The Week Vegas Goes Country” aka the ACM awards are next. They are more than a 3 hour award show….its a week long party. Las Vegas hosts live country concerts from the casinos and the infamous Front Street days before the awards air. They also have a fun ACM fan jam brought to us this year by the dynamic duo, Florida Georgia Line. The fan jam takes you backstage and into private concerts of some of your favorites. The awards themselves will air on April 6, 2014 and will be hosted again by the hilarious bromance, Bluke. (Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan) The following day, Lifting Lives, will tape a concert special that will air later in the year. The concert will feature some of todays top country stars and emphasize charitable causes highlighted by the organization.
Next on the agenda is the Country Music Television awards held in Nashville during the annual CMA Music Festival. The CMT awards honor those videos that made an impact during the year. These awards, like the ACAs, are fan voted. Just about everyone is in town for the CMA Music Festival so the performances for these awards are top notch.
The CMA Awards are held in Nashville every November. They are voted on by industry professionals in two separate rounds. The past several years they have been hosted by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley and have the most funny skits thrown in. Garth Brooks still holds the record for the most Entertainer of the Year wins although Blake is creeping up on him.
What they all have in common are dynamic performances, excitement and humor as we come together to honor those that have given us a voice through music.
