It isn’t a bad time to be Blake Shelton.
Blake has become one of the most accomplished and celebrated country artists in recent years, earning seventeen Number 1 hit songs (twelve in a row) and awards for Male Vocalist, Song of the Year (“Over You”), Vocal Event of the Year (“Hillbilly Bone” with Trace Adkins), and the Gene Weed Special Achievement Award. Blake also has four gold albums, eleven gold singles, three platinum albums, eleven gold singles, two platinum singles, and three multi-platinum singles … so far.
To say that Blake’s walls and shelves are filled with awards and honors is an understatement, and it appears that the Shelton household is going to need to find a little more wall space for the latest.
This past weekend, Blake wrapped his sold-out “Ten Times Crazier Tour 2014” with a packed show at the Hollywood Bowl. Before the final show of the tour, Warner Music Nashville and Starstruck Management executives gathered backstage to surprise Blake with a plaque celebrating his achievement of selling more than twenty million digital singles.
And it most definitely won’t stop there. Blake just released his new album Bringing Back the Sunshine last week and is already making waves with the twelve-track offering, which features most recent single “Neon Light.” “Neon Light” is currently working its way up the country charts with its sights set on Blake’s next big Number 1 hit. If history is any indication of this single’s final destination, it appears Blake will have more to celebrate — and soon.
No, it certainly isn’t a bad time to be Blake Shelton.
