Blake Shelton just had a #1 hit with “My Eyes,” the fifth single from his tenth studio album Based on a True Story. However, in-between touring, The Voice, promoting his singles and being Mr. Lambert, Shelton managed to record and prep a new album for release. Shelton’s new album is due out on September 30th and will be titled Bringing Back the Sunshine.
The details were announced this morning on TODAY, as was the album cover. The black and white cover (below) shows a water tower in Ada, Oklahoma, Shelton’s hometown. The cover is a but of a departure from his typical covers displaying his patented grin or serious stare, so it’ll be interesting to see if the music on this disc is a departure as well. The album was produced by longtime Shelton producer Scott Hendricks.
Shelton is currently in the midst of his “Ten Times Crazier Tour,” which has already played Chicago’s legendary Wrigley Field and will hit New York’s Madison Square Garden tonight, August 1st.
Shelton will also be back on the small screen on September 22 for the seventh season of NBC’s The Voice, featuring Little Big Town as his advisers.
