Blake Shelton recently hosted and performed on the iconic SNL on NBC. While positive reviews of the installment of the show were fleeting, the fact remains Blake nailed his skits, falling victim to subpar writing. In fact, Blake was the highlight of the show and is the reason many stayed tuned in from start to finish.
Regardless of whether you were a fan of the SNL experience, something quite amazing is coming from Blake’s time spent in front of the camera over the last few years. It appears that Mr. Shelton was bitten by the acting bug recently, as he is now signed on to join Adam Sandler in a special Netflix movie.
Taking on the role of Wyatt Earp, Blake will be costarring with the project’s co-writer, Adam Sandler, in Ridiculous 6. Expected to begin filming in February, the old west-inspired comedy flick will be exclusively released to the popular movie distributor, Netflix, on an undisclosed date.
Also included in the cast are Taylor Lautner, Nick Nolte, Whitney Cummings, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Dan Aykroyd, Will Forte, Nick Swardson, Terry Crews, Jon Lovitz, and Vanilla Ice. Other potential cast members are rumored to include Luke Wilson, Steve Zahn, Danny Trejo, Chris Parnell, and Lavell Crawford.
B104’s Buck Stevens superimposed a Wyatt Earp-style mustache on The Voice’s winningest coach to predict what he would look like in the role, and we have to say, Buck proved to be especially graphically inclined with this:
What do you think of Blake Shelton’s new role in the entertainment industry? Will you be subscribing to Netflix so you can partake in this exclusive movie with a cast of comedic wonders?
