You spend hours a day looking at cats playing, parodies, funny commercials but you also spend time doing what every other music lover does: clicking on music videos. Because of that, we now have the YouTube Awards. And, because of those awards, Brad Paisley and Hunter Hayes can now add winning one under their awards resumes.
Pop stars Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Meghan Trainor, and Katy Perry are also among the 50 acts being recognized for their unique YouTube contributions. As expected, the winners were chosen based on the biggest growth in views, subscribers, and engagements over the last six months. Meaning no voting and, really, no politics. And a crazy fact? Together, these artists were watched over 47 billion times. BILLION. That’s crazy!
In honor of the artists who proved their YouTube worth, the video-sharing website will be doing something it’s never done before. A collection of exclusive new music videos from 15 of the winning artists will be released on The YouTube Music Awards channel March 23. The videos will debut simultaneously at 10 a.m. PT. How cool is that?!
These online awards are catching fire! Which reminds us, are you excited for our Country Music’s #CMchatty Awards?!
