While Brandy Clark might have left the 57th Annual Grammy Awards without a trophy in hand, she might have ended up one of the biggest winners of the night. Brandy received Academy nods for Best New Artist and Best Country Album (12 Stories), but Sam Smith and Miranda Lambert ultimately took home those prizes. However, the souvenir Brandy took home from the star-studded evening is a long-lasting one, indeed.
Immediately following a highly acclaimed collaborative performance with Dwight Yoakam, Brandy Clark experienced a 3,763% increase in station adds on Pandora. Additionally, Brandy’s streams on Spotify increased 34% overall from 7:00pm ET Sunday to 1:00am ET Monday, with “Hold My Hand” (the song she performed with Dwight Yoakam) seeing a 494% streaming increase.
It is not shocking whatsoever that Brandy Clark is the recipient of post-show success, considering the enormous outpouring of support and praise she received during the coveted event. Social media was raving about the unique country singer-songwriter, boasting with pride that she “belongs to us,” while others were instantly researching the talent they just discovered.
