We recently reported that Brett Eldredge performed his song “Mean To Me” (off his Bring You Back album) on CBS’s hit reality show, Big Brother. Following Brett’s cameo on the show, he also released the track as his next single, immediately following it up with a steamy new music video.
The black and white video depicts a smirking Brett, “manscaping” in the mirror, apparently preparing to see the object of his affection. Throughout the video, Brett is seen traveling to his final destination in the backseat of a luxury vehicle, staring off into the night sky littered with fireworks. Inevitably, Brett enters a room at the conclusion of the video to find a gorgeous brunette awaiting his arrival.
“Mean To Me” marks the fourth single off Brett’s debut studio album. As we previously noted, the opening lines are enough to melt a romantic’s heart:
If I could be the reason your hair’s a mess, the bass drum beatin way down deep in your chest. If I could be the voice on your radio, then I could be your long ride home. If mine could be the name that changes yours, the wine in your glass, the swing on your porch, the dollar in your pocket and the peaceful in your sleep, then I’d be what you mean to me.
Further ensuring that ladies across the world turn into puddles of goo, Eldredge croons in the chorus, “standing here watching you turning every head in this crowded room, the lights down low, dancin’ slow, oh, if falling’s how you feel and perfect is what you see, then I’d be what you mean to me.”
