[email protected] Brett James Receives Fourteenth #1 Hit

With the news of Dierks Bentley scoring his 11th number one comes great news for songwriter Brett James. ‘I Hold On’ was co-written by Bentley and James and released to radio in August of 2013. Following the release of his 7th studio album, Riser, the song has become Dierks’ only number one since ‘5-1-5-0’ reached the top spot in 2012.

This marks Brett James’ 14th number one hit in his career. It might be easier to ask who Brett hasn’t worked with rather than who he has. He’s had songs recorded by Taylor Swift, Jake Owen, Sara Evans, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and many others. His #1’s include Carrie Underwood‘s ‘Jesus, Take The Wheel’ and ‘Cowboy Casanova’, Jason Aldean’s ‘The Truth’, Kenny Chesney‘s ‘Reality’ ‘Out Last Night’ and ‘When The Sun Goes Down’, as well as Rodney Atkins’ ‘It’s America’.

On behalf of everyone at #CMchat, I would like to wish Brett a very big congrats for this accomplishment.  I can’t wait to hear the next fourteen!

A few months back, we did a #CMchat Twangout with Brett James and fellow Music City Hitmakers Gordie Sampson, Hillary Lindsey, and Troy Verges.
