[email protected]_Mashalot Invades Bro Nation and Brings Back a Bro Country Blend

As country music fans we are all familiar with the movement called “Bro Country” and the corner of our world called “Bro Nation.” The males of country music have become dominant in the genre, taking over radio and award shows with their catchy tunes about girls, beer, trucks, and all other cliches imaginable.

However, you cannot take away from these musical men the fact that their products (for the most part) are simply sensational and rocking the radio for good reason. That reason being, like everything else in life, there is a formula for success — an equation, if you will — and these “bros,” well, they and their teams have that formula figured out. Whether it is a certain type of lyric, a catchy chord, or a mind-blowing melody, the songwriters of Nashville who are working alongside country music’s males have put two and two together, found four, and are eager to show off their knowledge to the tune of … tunes.

With that being said, those songwriters (in some cases) are working in the same formulaic way and with identical goals in mind. This overlap of mentalities could lead to similar sounding songs if you listen closely to every beat of the music. To support this point, YouTuber Sir Mashalot created a mix of Blake Shelton, Cole Swindell, Luke Bryan, Chase Rice, Florida Georgia Line, and Parmalee, and the results are uncanny. Sir Mashalot explained he did this as an experiment and with the intention of just having fun:

This Mashup is all in good fun. I am not bashing these songs. I understand and even appreciate why the “formula” continues to dominate the airwaves- not only in country music, but pop and other genres as well. I simply enjoy mixing and producing on Pro Tools, and when I heard the striking similarities of these particular hits, I thought it would be fun to throw them all in a mix and have some fun. And it looks like people are having fun with it too, so I couldn’t be happier.

As country music fans, this is a mashup you don’t want to miss! It’s innovative and eye-opening, all the while being incredibly fun as a multifaceted jam.
