Born and raised in Lynch, Kentucky, a town known for coal-mining, Brooklyhn Woods is as country as a girl can be. So when Brooklyhn dug deep into herself and discovered her innate talent, she knew immediately she was destined for a future in country music, as she envelopes everything the genre is from her roots down to her boots.
Channeling her upbringing, Brooklyhn began singing and songwriting, embracing her heritage and pouring unique qualities into her music; the result of which is a classic country sound that can be compared to the greats that precede her. Also incorporated into her music are Brooklyhn’s characteristics — talent, style, confidence, positivity, and courageousness — which make her a beautiful human being and artist inside and out.
Once Brooklyhn began to develop her talent, she followed the bluegrass lined path toward Nashville for a visit, catching the attention of Bernard Porter, President of PCG Nashville. It wasn’t long until Brooklyhn’s friends and family were giving her the little supportive push she needed to sign on the dotted line and enlist the assistance of this top notch artist development company.
In discussing Brooklyhn, Bernard Porter stated:
Brooklyhn possesses the “it” factor. Not only is she intelligent, beautiful and very talented, but she also has a little something extra. We saw tremendous potential in her and we’ve watched her grow from a girl with a lot of natural ability and style into an artist with a real shot at success in this business.
When the ink dried, Brooklyhn’s career did, in fact, grow, and she soon thereafter became a member of ASCAP and NSAI, citing her musical influences as two of the largest female voices in existence, Martina McBride and Carrie Underwood. Intertwining the vocal prowess with Brooklyhn’s intellect has proven to be a forceful combination, producing tracks of empowerment, love, loss, and change that are styled after the iconic Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton.
Brooklyhn’s chances to flourish in country music continue to increase, and the release of her debut single “When You Love a Wild Thing” is a testament to that statement. The single debuted at Number 57 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart and Number 59 on the Billboard Indicator chart, which was quite the welcoming to the genre for Brooklyhn, and it is certainly just the beginning for the stylistic beauty with Kentucky coal at her feet and music in her heart.
