EP Review: Bucky Covington – Happy Man

Since bursting out of the gate in 2005, thanks to American Idol, Bucky Covington has carved out one of the most devoted fan bases in Country Music. And, that’s with good reason. Whether it be uptempo songs like “It’s Good To Be Us” or heartfelt ballads like the tender “I’ll Walk,” the North Carolina native puts every ounce of his heart and soul into everything he does.

“This project means a lot to me as an independent artist,” Covington says. “The good part is that there’s no one telling me what songs to pick, and the bad part is no one is there to tell me what songs to pick or paying for making the music, so all the risk is on me. That said, I hope everyone loves it as much as I do!” The singer adds with his signature lighthearted smile and a laugh.

His new single – the lead off track from his upcoming Happy Man EP – is proof of the way that Covington can handle a song with tempo. “I Feel Ya” – about finding the special person and the spark that occurs when you do so – is the perfect song for summer, complete with a sing-a-long chorus that his fans will no doubt have memorized very soon.

It’s been a while since we’ve had some new Bucky Covington music on the airwaves, and this is a welcome return from a man who sounds like he is having fun making music that matters. Take a listen. You’ll be humming along in no time……………
