Carly Pearce can blame a lot of things for the exposure she is getting in Nashville, Tennessee as her career is on the rise; she can even “Blame the Whiskey.”
Though Carly didn’t start her musical life out in Music City, or even within the state boundaries, she has certainly found her niche in the heart of country music. Beginning to sing at the age of eleven, Carly, a Kentucky native, started fronting a bluegrass band which performed at festivals and churches. Wanting to expand her horizons, Carly started to explore what it would be like to emerge from behind a single microphone, dreaming of the day she could be a solo entertainer.
At the age of sixteen, after auditioning for a role at Dollywood, Carly scored a part in the regularly performed shows at the amusement park. She and her mom packed up their lives and followed Carly’s arrow to the state that breeds country superstars. Carly performed at Dollywood for a year (as well as with a theater company) before ultimately moving to Nashville — the place she always knew would be her final destination.
In 2009, the big move was upon her, and Carly became a Nashville resident. She connected with a songwriter on MySpace (when was the last time you heard that word?) and was introduced to Universal Music Publishing by virtue of that very fateful online meeting.
Fast forward to today and Carly is well on the path of living the life she always had imagined. A ten-year town, Nashville has treated the up and comer well, providing her with opportunities like performing with Florida Georgie Line and Lucy Hale, working on her debut EP, and releasing her first single “Blame the Whiskey” to Sirius XM The Highway.
Carly’s single, “Blame the Whiskey,” has made quite a bit of noise on Sirius XM The Highway, being played during its On the Horizon hours over the weekends, and gaining additional play during the week. Continuing to garner countless requests for spins on the satellite station, Carly has quickly become a listener favorite and is leaving country music fans wanting more.
You can blame her tenacity, you can blame her talent, you can blame her family for supporting her dream, and you can most definitely “Blame the Whiskey” for the fact that Carly Pearce is on the rise and Country Music #CMchat’s One to Watch this week.
