If you’re a Texan and a country music fan, then you definitely know who Casey Donahew Band is. It’s no secret that Texas brews some of the best country music out there, but Casey Donahew Band is hands down one of the best groups to come out of the Lonestar state.
Casey Donahew (the group’s lead singer) started out teaching himself how to play guitar while attending college at Texas A&M. With the influences of Garth Brooks, Pat Green, Randy Rogers Band, and other acts, Casey began writing his own songs. Shortly thereafter, he began playing acoustic shows, gaining popularity, and eventually getting too big for the smaller clubs in Texas.
He’s definitely one of those DIY kind of guys. With five studio albums and one live album, the band has released each and every one independently. And with the country group’s most recent album, “Standoff” released in April 2013, it may just be their best one yet.
One of the things that sets this group apart from any other is the band’s go-balls-to-the-wall stage presence. While currently promoting their new album across Texas and the Midwest, no matter if CDB is playing to a sold out crowd or to a venue that is only halfway full, you’ll get the same type of performance. Mixing it up with high energy indie country and a steady dose of enthusiasm, Casey Donahew and his band give you their all.
I don’t know for sure, but certainly this group has had record labels talking and making offers. Go ahead and see for yourself and check out their music above!
