It was supposed to be a normal trip to New York City for Cassadee Pope, who performed on Fox and Friends early Friday morning. Decked out in purple with a pretty ponytail, the songstress braved the rain to perform her current single, “I Wish I Could Break Your Heart.”
However, despite the title of her current single, Cassadee was determined NOT to break any hearts on Thursday afternoon when she performed at an elementary school on Long Island. The concert was a reward for the children of Coram Elementary who raised an enormous amount of food for the charity, Long Island Cares. However, the Travel Gods were not in Cassadee’s corner on Thursday, and Long Island radio station MyCountry 96.1 posted this story on their Facebook page:
Cassadee Pope performed for a half hour on the lawn for all the kids. However, this is the angel that Cassadee is. Flew to Philly. Connecting flight cancelled in Philly. Rented a minivan at 10a. Her and her team hit the road and drove 4.5 hours to see us in awful traffic. We had to do this by 3p before the kids went home on buses from school. Well they made it. Smiles on their faces. Love in their hearts. No attitudes. Hopped out of the van. Plugged in. Played for the kids who danced and sang and smiled the whole time. Cassadee even had the sensibility after the arduous day to skip a few of her awesome album ballads and play more fun tunes for the kids like her cover of “Happy”. Then in “Wasting All These Tears” she changed the word “damn” to “darn”. This woman gets it. This is why she will sell out arenas one day. This is why I call her a role model. Bless you Cassadee for being an amazing person!
