Chris Janson has had massive support via country radio and his high-energy performances seem to set him apart from the rest of the country music class. Janson has returned with his sophomore album via Warner Music Group. Everybody is a 12 track collaboration of upbeat hymns matched with slowed down ballads, all co-written by Janson himself.
Known for his redneck anthems and upbeat vibes, Janson delivers exactly what his fans were looking for with “Who’s Your Farmer,” a song based on the phrase “Who’s Your Daddy.” It’s not only catchy but clever. The swampy track “Little Bit Of Both” is mainstream enough to be a hit yet country enough to be a solid gem. Let’s not forget Janson’s current single “Fix A Drink” that resonates past influences of his music and style.
A solid album that has something for everyone, Janson focused more on the ballads this time around. “Eyes For Nobody,” which came about thanks to Janson’s wife, is a slowed down track depicting love and life. It showcases a more enduring side to Janson and can ultimately be hidden by his rowdy ways. The motivating and captivating “Out There” is another slowed down track reflecting dreams and desires. It’s one with depth and character.
If you really want to see Janson’s growth as a songwriter and vocalist, “Drunk Girl” is an entirely new lane altogether. A track inspired by respect and love for women, it possesses a strong message and even stronger vocals.
An album full of emotion and heart, “Bein’ A Dad” sets the standards high for songwriters. You won’t find this much passion anywhere else at the moment.
Everybody is a special kind of project, one where the keyboard styling is noble and the harmonica notes are pure. It’s filled with blue-collar inspired ballads and redneck party songs. Janson’s lively musicality shines through with each track. An album that’s lyrically witty and vocally robust, it’s sure to impress Everybody.
