It’s no secret that Chris Young is one of country’s hottest stars. With hit after hit and that oh-so-smooth baritone voice, he’s an eternal fan-favorite. Yet, in addition to the good looks and hit singles, there’s also a heart of gold to go with that golden voice.
Young recently visited the Nashville School of the Arts (NSA) to participate in its student produced program, “NSA Presents.” While there, he presented to school with two giant (in both size and amount) checks to help update and upgrade the school’s auditorium. His donation totaled $30,000, with $25,000 coming from the singer himself and another $5,000 coming from his devoted fanclub.
As an alumni of YoungArts and a former US Presidential Scholar in the Arts, Young has a special kinship to these talented students. The Nashville School of the Arts is the only arts magnet high school within Metro Nashville Public Schools, offering its students the “rare combination of rigorous, college preparatory curriculum instructed with intensely focused instruction in the performing or visual arts.”
