Over the past few years, Chris Young has taken on the title of country music’s hottest Bachelor. Despite songs like “Gettin’ You Home” and “Tomorrow,” we’ve been missing Young’s deep soulful voice caressing the lyrics of a true country love ballad.
Enter “Who I Am With You,” the second single off of A.M. This is Young at his finest and the new video, directed by Trey Fanjoy (Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Taylor Swift) only serves to enhance the track, showing Young both thrilled on stage, but lonely off. It turns out that he’s missing his better half, the lucky woman to whom he croons, “Who I am with you is who I really wanna be, You’re so good for me. When I’m holding you, it feels like I’ve got the world in my hands. Yeah a better man is who I am with you.”
“From the first time I heard this song I knew I had to have it for my record and I fell completely in love with it.” Young writes on his website. “It’s a song that speaks to being totally in love with someone and the feelings you get from a connection like that. The feeling that just being around that person is all you need.”
