Chris Young

Tonight we had a special Thursday night Country Music #CMchat Twitterview with Chris Young to celebrate the release of his new music video, “Lonely Eyes.” The video premiered this morning, already receiving thousands of hits from fans who couldn’t wait to see the latest from this country artist with a catalog of gold (and sometimes even platinum).

Chris has been on our team’s wish list of guests for quite some time and we couldn’t have thought of a better holiday gift from Chris and his camp than a one-hour Twitterview with the man who made black dresses hit the floor everywhere with his 2009 hit “Gettin’ You Home (the Black Dress Song).” Since becoming a household name, Chris has become a frequent flyer to the top of the charts, logging six separate occasions that his singles have claimed Number 1.

What’s incredibly unique about Chris is that his notoriety doesn’t remain on home soil. In fact, Chris is so well-known, respected, and adored overseas that he was honored with a British Country Music Award earlier this year and will be touring Europe and Australia in early 2015. Chris also has another very special honor he will receive next month in Miami, Florida, and Jessica Northey took the opportunity to discuss the prestigious award with him during our Twitterview.

So, what did Chris share with us during our very special one-hour event? He told us about shooting the “Lonely Eyes” video — a filming that included about twenty minutes of just his feet. In case you want to know if his feet made it into the video, you can watch it here! We also learned that Chris is getting ready to visit Hawaii for a tour date and, once he heads to the island, he will only have Alaska left to check all fifty states off his tour stop bucket list. Chris also shared that he plays a “mean jazz flute” … who knew?!

Most importantly, we learned that Chris is incredibly gracious and appreciative of his fans. You can read the tweets below to see his sweet tribute to those who have helped shape him into the successful artist he is today.

Oh, and he received this marriage proposal:

Only on Country Music #CMchat, folks! In case you missed tonight’s fast-paced, fun event, here is the entire conversation, provided to you in tweet form. We hope you learn something new about your favorite artist from reading these! We certainly received an education on the man behind the music!
