Colt Ford “Love Hope Faith” Album Review

Georgia native Colt Ford has become a huge impact on the “hick-hop” genre within country music. He has beaten all odds and achieved more than most ever will even with little radio and mainstream support. He is a boss, an inspiration to those who want to follow his lead and he is back with his 6th studio album titled Love Hope Faith.

It’s a 13 track piece that was released on May 5th 2017. It’s a solid concept of who Ford is not only as an artist but as an individual and it also has some amazing features as well.

“Reload” is a track that features the social media icon himself, Taylor Ray Holbrook. It’s a track that can sum up all country folks. We are kind but fearless, we aren’t the ones you want to piss off! It’s fun and everything fans would expect from Ford. Then you have tracks such as “Dynamite” which features Waterloo Revival and “Drunk Girl” that focuses more toward the female population. Also, “Drunk Girl” is the ultimate line dance song. It’s bound to happen, you can quote me on that!

Love Hope Faith is easily proven to show growth from Ford with tracks such as  “Young Americans” which features Josh and Charles Kelley ignite a more in depth side to Ford’s artistry. It’s not only clever but catchy. The fun and breezy “Dirt Road Disco” is a different side to Ford, but he totally nails it with his “watermelon twerk” reference. You can also find Tyler Farr on the ode to having a real track titled “My Truck” as well as the incredibly talented Brad Paisley on the brilliantly written “Lookin For A Hand Out.”

This album is just ultimately a big huge country music collab. It shows that Ford can be paired with anyone and still make great music. For example, the island-inspired “Time Flies” which features Toby Keith is not only lively but extremely notable. Also, the rock-inspired “I’m Mud” which features LIT is absolutely genius.

A new side of Ford emerges with the track “No Rest” which features Javier Colon. A pop-inspired song that is highly inspirational and shows a more intimate and in-depth side of Ford, it’s one that could be played on many different radio stations, as it speaks to many people.

Love Hope Faith is a solid album that mixes influences of country, rock, hip hop, and even blues into a hard-hitting project. It’s a fun album that fans will enjoy tremendously. An artist at growth, Ford has shown his massive knowledge of music alike. This album has proven, Colt Ford still has it… and then some.
