I’m not sure anyone could predict that a chance meeting in a karaoke bar in Nashville would bring a story that unfolds quite like this but …..that’s how it all began for the duo that make up Steel Magnolia. Their voices blended seamlessly, people couldn’t get enough of them, there was something simply magical about this pair. Joshua Scott Jones and Meghan Linsey entered and won the second season of CMT So You Think You Can Duet. They also “won” a record deal with Big Machine Records, the same label that houses Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire and Taylor Swift.
Steel Magnolia brought their soulful blend to Melbourne, FL last night in an a insanely incredible show. The pair had a turbulent relationship at times which yielded some of the most authentic honest music heard anywhere right now. Pair that with intense chemistry on stage and you’re hooked. Steel Magnolia performed a range of music last night with their band and then a few songs acoustically. No matter what they were singing we simply couldn’t turn away.
The end of the show Josh, Meghan, and many fans were visibly emotional. Last year they made an announcement that they were going to spend 2014 focusing on their solo careers. Both artists had solo projects before meeting each other and its simply the time to see where that will take them. Josh and Meghan have the loyal fan base and industry backing to compliment this obvious next step.
