Country Music #CMchat #25DaysOfCountryChristmas: @BradPaisley

On the twenty-fifth day of Country Music #CMchat’s 25 Days of Country Christmas aka CHRISTMAS DAY, we bring you “Born On Christmas Day,” a Christmas original from Brad Paisley that he began writing as a kid. The track appears on his 2006 album, Brad Paisley Christmas.

True to form, Brad Paisley does something uniquely heartwarming with this new Christmas carol, intermingling his thirteen year old self performing the track with modern-day Brad. In fact, the song begins with an intro to the then teen-aged Brad, performing the self-penned “Born on Christmas Day” on Jamboree USA.

Baby Brad shows his early talent, his voice young and his guitar strumming tentatively on the opening verse and chorus of the song. Where young Brad left off, modern-day Brad picks up, reflecting upon “that little important baby, born on Christmas Day.”

As he retells the story of the birth of Jesus, his voice shines with simplicity, an earnest and warm telling of the meaning of Christmas.

“So hush up little baby / You know not what you’ll do / You’ll bring the world peace and love / And teach them while you do / You have nothing to fear because you know / God will lead the way / That little important baby / Born on Christmas day”

The song ends with the younger Brad harmonizing with the present-day Brad in a way that only Mr. Paisley could do.

As this concludes our 25 Days of Country Christmas, we thank you for joining us on this countdown and a VERY Merry Christmas to all our readers from everyone here at #CMChat.
