Country Music Keeps Growing, And Growing, And Growing…

It’s not a surprise that country music is bigger now than it has ever been. Any country music fan could tell you that. But the actual numbers of exactly how big country music has grown in just the last two years will blow your mind.

In a report from Live Nation Entertainment, numbers show that country music fans are increasing at an incredible rate. So incredible that 2.3 million country music fans have grown to almost 7 million! Live Nation reports that this is a 50% increase from 2012.

The big-time-promoting company set a new annual revenue record last year seeing its net income increase by $120 million and its revenue shooting up 11% to $6.5 billion! “We increased both attendance and attendance per show at every type of venue, from theaters and clubs to amphitheaters to arenas and stadiums, showing the consistent strength of our business,” Live Nation said in a press release. Live Nation saw this increase due in part to them being the exclusive promoter of 21 of the 25 top-grossing tours in North America.

“Early indicators show we are off to a strong start, with event-related deferred revenue up 19% year on year to $434 million as of December 31st, 2013 and concert ticket sales for shows in 2014 up 12% as of February 15th, 2014 as compared to this time last year,” the company shared. This means that Live Nation is on pace to trump last year’s numbers.

Live Nation is currently promoting tours for Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean, Hunter Hayes, Jake Owen and Zac Brown Band.
