Country Music Star @TraceAdkins Pulls Out of SeaWorld Event Over Controversy

So you may have seen all the other blogs talking about all the music stars pulling out of the SeaWorld’s Bands, Brew and BBQ six week concert series due to the Florida theme park’s controversy. So far, country legend Willie Nelson, Trisha Yearwood, and Matrina McBride are among the country music artists whom have decided to cancel their commitments to perform at the event. Now, you can add Trace Adkins to the list.

A representative for Adkins states: “Trace prefers that the focus of his performances be on music, not on controversy. Therefore, he has decided not to proceed with this show in the midst of this debate.”

To catch you up on the controversy, there is a movie out called ‘Blackfish‘ which contains allegations of abuse on orca whales (you know, the type of whales like Willy in “Free Willy”) at SeaWorld. Once word about the allegations came to light, country music fans started petitioning for their favorite artists to pull of of the event.

It looks like Justin Moore and Scotty McCreery are still scheduled to perform during the series. We’ll see if they pull out next.
