Is it just me or is everyone fast-forwarding to Christmas this year? I want to just freeze time and tell everyone to SLOW down! We still have another holiday before Christmas – and it’s kind of important. You know, the one where you gather with family, and eat turkey, and tell everyone what you’re THANKful for? Yes, Thanksgiving!! In honor of Thanksgiving this year, I have decided to put together a list of 7 songs I feel are a great sentiment to saying “Thank You” to someone! Here we go…
Brad Paisley – “He Didn’t Have to Be”
Okay, this song makes me tear up every single time. It is so heartfelt and sweet! Brad openly sings from a little boy’s perspective of this man that chose to be his father! Cue ugly cry now!
Matt Kennon – “The Call”
When I listen to this song, I literally stop in my tracks and think about those people in my life that I might need to reach out to or may need to check on. This song is more of a tribute of someone being thankful they did do something! Also, if you or someone you know is struggling with depression please let someone know and feel free to call 1-800-273-8255. You are not alone, the Country Music #CMchat community loves everyone!
Craig Morgan – “That’s What I Love About Sundays”
This song just seems to capture Southern Sunday life in a 3 or so minute segment! I’m thankful for these small moments and this time we get to spend with loved ones!
Martina McBride – “Concrete Angel”
Child abuse is an issue that is real and so sad. This song is a real depiction of what many children go through and it breaks my heart. I’m so thankful for a loving family where I don’t have to worry about these things and pray for those who do.
Carrie Underwood – “Something in the Water”
Whatever your religion is or what you believe in, I’m sure you are thankful that you have someone higher than yourself to believe in. I’m thankful for my beliefs and having a God who loves me. This song is full of hope and I’m thankful for it!
Tim McGraw – “Live Like You Are Dying”
This might be a given to some or a shocker to others, however this song is right. None of us are promised tomorrow. Live each day as a gift that has been given to you and be thankful you have your health and are living!
Jennifer Nettles – “Thank You”
What better way to sum it all up, than a song that actually says thank you? I saw Jennifer perform this at a concert and she dedicated it to fans and I felt so loved!!
With all of this being said, THANK YOU from myself and everyone at Country Music #CMchat for each and every one of you who help make this happen!! Without fans and people who love country music- none of this would be possible, so THANK YOU!!!!!
I wish everyone a safe and Happy Thanksgiving! May it be filled with love and happiness!!
