Dee Jay Silver was the first ever DJ to be signed to a major Nashville record label, the first DJ to ever play the ACMs and is now the first DJ to release a single in the country music world.
Silver is widely known for touring with Jason Aldean, however, this time around he has his own endeavor. His new single “Just Got Paid” features vocals from country music indie artist Austin Webb (who co-wrote the song with Silver). It’s an upbeat track celebrating the weekend and all of its rambunctiousness.
“Just Got Paid” blends together EDM mixes with country lyrics. It has a mainstream sound that makes it a perfect match for country radio, but it’s also edgy enough to be accepted by those in the hick hop community as well. With lyrics such as “Well, I just got paid and I’m on my way to the back of the bank line. Got the stub in the dash, a pocket full of cash, picking up my sunshine. When she hops on in, sugar and a grin, sweet as she can be. Then we’re on our way and it’s all okay cause I just got paid,” it portrays a fun message while also promoting the party lifestyle that we as country fans love. It’s a good-time anthem and an ode to Friday’s.
The new track will be released digitally on July 15th via iTunes and other streaming platforms. It’s certainly the right ditty for summer fun and its timely release date will definitely be in the song’s favor. Between Webb’s spot on vocals and Silver’s celebrated mixing skills, “Just Got Paid” has all the right components to be a hit.
