Whoever dreamed up the idea of a collaboration of CMT Crossroads with Dierks Bentley and OneRepublic is a genius. Never have I been so excited to see two amazing, and very different, musical collaborations come together. CMT announced today that the show will premiere on CMT sometime mid- March.
OneRepublic dominated both digital sales and airplay with their debut album, Dreaming Out, in 2007 due mainly to the success of the first single, “Apologize”. They second album released in 2009, Waking Up, produced 3 singles. Native, the third, debuted at #4 on Billboard Top 200 and had a #1 single with “Counting Stars”. The band will begin a US tour this summer.
Dierks Bentley may just be the hardest working guy in the business right now. His new album, Riser, will debut on February 25. This highly anticipated release is said to be fueled with emotion given its the first release since the death of his father and birth of his son. He already teased the track list to eager fans and the debut single, “I Hold On”, written by Dierks Bentley and Brett James, is rapidly climbing country airplay charts. Dierks also announced that he will be headlining his Riser tour which kicks off on May 9 in Charlotte. If thats not enough, he allowed cameras to follow him around for the past two years in order to introduce a film highlighting the personal inspirations behind Riser. CMT will air a special edit of the film at 2pm on February 22. The same day the full-length film will air on Palladia at 9:00pm ET. Bentley will be promoting both the film and album in major cities including London, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York and Toronto.
Who would you love to see on a CMT Crossroads?
