On his sexy new single, “Say You Do,” Dierks Bentley pleads with a former flame to revisit their love for just one night. He doesn’t care if the love isn’t true, he just needs to hear the words, feel the reassurance and enjoy the sweet, sweet loving of the one who got away.
In the video, released today, Dierks is equal parts brooding and bad-ass. The manly Dierks rocks a full beard while flying a plane, chopping wood and riding a motorcycle. In contrast, he looks forlorn, strumming an acoustic guitar in a seemingly abandoned cabin, sitting by a fire and pouring a pair of foreboding glasses of red wine.
He pleads with his ladylove to entertain him for just a night and the video perfectly conveys the longing and emotion in the song, which Country Music #CMchat’s Jen Swirsky reviewed here. The video is simple, yet effective, showing that videos can succeed on more than flashy effects and big party scenes. While Dierks was able to show off his humorous side in “Drunk On A Plane,” “Say You Do” shows him as a sex-symbol. Think a country “Wicked Game” here.
When a (shirtless!) Dierks wakes up in the morning, one glass of wine remains full. Whoever she is, I’d like to smack her in the head. Women everywhere would kill to be you, mystery woman. How can anyone turn down Dierks Bentley in all his brooding and bearded glory?
