If you’ve tuned into country radio lately, chances are you’ve heard the catchy “yep, yep” of Dustin Lynch’s Top 20 hit “Where It’s At.” While the hot single continues to climb it’s way up country radio, Lynch is showing off exactly where it’s at in his new video.
The track is the lead single from his forthcoming sophomore album, but there are absolutely no signs here of a sophomore slump for Dustin Lynch. With both the video and the song, he’s looking and sounding like a bonafide country superstar.
“Where It’s At” was written by hitmakers Cary Barlowe, Zach Crowell and Matt Jenkins (the the latter two wrote Keith Urban’s “Cop Car”). It’s just a taste of what’s to come from the “Cowboys and Angels” singer, whose album is due out later this year. Speaking to Radio.com earlier this year, Lynch admitted that the subject matter on this album will expand way beyond what was touched upon on his first record. “I got to realize that my little bubble here in Middle Tennessee is not the way that everybody is,” he said. “It’s been such a neat experience to grow and soak all that in. And now for this second album, it’s all coming out of me.”
The video, directed by Shane Drake, shines in its simplicity, as Lynch plays guitar on the couch, walks the streets of Nashville and is joined by his on-screen love interest for a series of scenes that are interestingly filmed as if she’s taking a selfie video. Watch closely and you’ll even get a rare glimpse of a hat-less Dustin as he and his ladyfriend flirt playfully on the couch. This song and video are sure to put a smile on your face, and Dustin fans are in luck, as his smile is on full display throughout the video.
