Ben Bradford’s highly anticipated debut EP Alright is set to be released on December 4, 2015. The EP is a culmination of the long, hard hours of work writing, recording and putting together this project over the last two years. Alright was co-produced by the in-house production team of two Grammy-nominated producers, Greg Archilla (Collective Soul and Matchbox Twenty) and Ilya Toshinsky (7-time ACM “Player of the Year”).
Alright is comprised of six songs, each connected, but with a particular sound of their own. This EP will take your ears on a journey of country music infused with soul and rock twists. The debut single, “Just A Little Bit,” co-written by country star Dustin Lynch, has been gaining positive exposure and has a very intriguing concept of being inside the head of someone laying eyes on a romantic interest for the first time. Another familiar song on the EP, co-written by Adam Doleac, “I Put it on Ya” chronicles a love story from the very beginning of a relationship to engagement, and captures the “butterfly” feeling through smooth rock beats and complementary vocals.
With songs like the upbeat party anthems, “I Need a Cold One” and title track, alongside the Memphis, Tennessee hometown inspired ballad, “Million Miles of Free,” Bradford showcases that his musicality spans beyond typical country music love songs.
“I would have to say one of, if not my favorite songs, is ‘Million Miles of Free,’” Bradford explains. “When my buddies Matt Rogers (‘We Went’ by Randy Houser) and Gary Ray sat down to write this song, I told them I wanted it to represent me as an artist and what it was like growing up in my hometown. It came out amazing. This song still gives me chills to this day.”
Ben Bradford’s hard work and determination is displayed in this well-rounded EP. I would highly recommend Alright to anyone looking for music that is relatable and easy to listen to, yet makes you think and reminisce.
