Country music fans across the world woke up today, anticipating the likely long-awaited announcement by Garth Brooks … The one where he HOPEFULLY told everyone he would be heading back out on tour. If you are anything like me, you visited Garth’s website as soon as you got yourself in front of a computer and checked for any updates about the alleged “7/7” announcement that was teased all weekend. And, if you are anything like me, you sank in your desk chair when you saw the announcement was postponed until a press conference on Thursday, July 10th at 12pm ET/11pm CT.
What does this mean for Garth Brooks fans? Three more days of staring at the calendar and the clock, hoping and praying that the big news is exactly what we all think — that Garth is coming out of “retirement” to head out on the road once more. Aside from a number of Las Vegas residencies at The Wynn, the possible tour would mark Garth’s first since he made his exit from the limelight in 2001. Also widely speculated is that Garth is planning to release his first studio album since his 2001 retirement, fresh off the heels of his Number 1 selling box set during the 2013 holiday season.
Do you have a prediction as to what Garth’s big announcement will be? Do you think it’s a tour, an album, or maybe even both? And, let’s hope that all of our wishes for the return of Garth and new music aren’t unanswered prayers!
