As an artist known for performing more tour dates every year than almost any other, Granger Smith will have to take a small hiatus – doctor’s orders.
In a press release from Granger’s team, it was reported that Smith was standing on a monitor before it collapsed, then he fell into a metal barricade, resulting in the injury. Despite the tumble during a performance at the Starland Ballroom in Sayreville, New Jersey last night (December 2) Granger Smith continued to finish his set while fighting through excruciating pain. After a post-show visit to the emergency room, he was admitted to a Level 1 trauma center in New Brunswick, New Jersey. It was there that his fate was revealed: two completely separated, broken ribs, and a punctured and partially collapsed lung. It takes a whole lot of “Yee Yee” to muster up enough strength to even try to finish a performance after that!
I took a pretty hard spill last night in Jersey. Thx for the well wishes! Y’all mean the world to me. I’ll be out of the hospital & 💯% soon! pic.twitter.com/ncVVS6irIj

Granger Smith has two more shows on the books this weekend, which will obviously be canceled immediately, but nothing has been confirmed for his shows next week, beginning on December 7 in Jacksonville, Florida. As Granger confirmed on his Twitter (above) this morning, he will be recuperating and taking some much-needed rest time back home in Texas with his family before returning to the stage again, so make sure to keep up on his official pages for updates on future shows, as well as any re-scheduling for current shows. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Granger!
