MORE ABOUT GWEN SEBASTIAN
Born in raised in a small town in North Dakota, Gwen Sebastian always loved music, but it wasn’t until she received her college degree and was one semester into nursing school that she hung up her stethoscope and picked up a microphone instead. Moving from the place she had always called home to Nashville, Tennessee was the likely transition, and proved to be the fruitful one as well, as she signed a record deal with Lofton Creek Records in October 2009. Within no time, Country Weekly writers had their eyes on Gwen, naming her a 2010 artist to watch. Gwen released her debut single “Hard Rain” under Lofton Creek, as well as a Christmas album and six-track EP. Attempting to catapult her career forward, Gwen ultimately auditioned for NBC’s reality singing competition The Voice, landing herself a spot on the always impressive, often championship team headed by Blake Shelton. Though she was eliminated just prior to the live shows during her season, Gwen left with more than a trophy — she left with lasting friendships and business relationships. Having worked with Blake and Miranda Lambert during her stint on The Voice, she earned herself a role as Blake’s background vocalist, lending her voice to albums and tours. Keeping it all in the family, Gwen is currently out with Blake’s Grammy-award winning wife, Miranda, on the Certified Platinum Tour. While lending her vocals for supplementary purposes to these two country megastars, Gwen also continues to pursue her own career, recently releasing “That Could Be Us” for Valentine’s Day.
