NEW MUSIC VIDEO: “It’s All Going to Pot” from Willie Nelson & Merle Haggard (+ Lyrics)

In case you missed it, two of the highest one-namers in the history of country music, Willie and Merle, released “It’s All Going to Pot” on 4-20,  Marijuana’s unofficial official “get high” Day. This is the first hit from their new album Django and Jimmie, a tribute to one of the greatest guitar players of all time, Django Reinhardt and “The Father of Country Music,” Jimmie Rodgers. Available June 2nd, Django and Jimmie marks Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard’s sixth joint venture.

The two legendary buds, who weeded through the rest of country music to find each other way back when, have been smoking out the competition ever since. In “It’s All Going to Pot,” Willie and Merle pass the lyrics back and forth proving that their pipes are as good as ever. Filled with clever references to reefer, this spiffy Jamey Johnson, Buddy Cannon and Larry Shell bong, I mean song, is an up-tempo that opens with blunt horns, attitude and smoking guitar riffs. “It’s All Going to Pot” will light up listeners’ faces as they enjoy the funny, yet brutally honest, lyrics sung by these two cronick-iconic artists. No doubt they will bag several new fans with this hit because the younger crowd can appreciate and relate to the words. In fact, every Dick and [Mary] Jane will enjoy this song and bring Willie and Merle to whole new generation of puffers…but that’s just how they roll.

It’s All Going to Pot Lyrics

Whether we like it or not
As far as I can tell
The world’s gone to hell
And we’re sure gonna miss it a lot

All the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Just doesn’t hit the spot
I gotta hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friend
Cause it’s all going to pot

That cackle-bobble-head-in-a-box
Must think I’m dumb as a rock
Readin’ the daily news
While I’m kickin’ off my shoes
It’s scarin’ me outta my socks

The Red Headed Stranger I’m not
But buddy, let me tell you what
Ask ol’ Will, he’ll tell ya here’s the deal
Friends, it’s all goin’ to pot

Well, it’s all going to pot
Whether we like it or not
Best I can tell
The world’s gone to hell
And we’re all gonna miss it a lot

All the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Just doesn’t hit the spot
I gotta hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friend
Cause it’s all going to pot

Well I thought I had found me a girl
Sweetest little thing in the world
But all my jokes went up in smoke
When I caught her makin eyes at Merle

He said, sweet little honey
With her eye on your money
She’s gonna take every penny you got
I said she’s never gonna get it
Cause I’ve already spent it
Merle, It’s all goin’ to pot

It’s all going to pot
Whether we like it or not
Best I can tell
The world’s gone to hell
And we’re all gonna miss it a lot

All the whiskey in Lynchburg, Tennessee
Just doesn’t hit the spot
I gotta hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friend
Cause it’s all going to pot
I gotta hundred dollar bill
You can keep your pills, friend
Cause it’s all going to pot

Produced by Buddy Cannon, the album features 14 tracks by Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. The preproduction of the album took eighteen months. The parties involved discussed the type of material they wanted to include in the album and co-wrote some of the songs by talking on the telephone. The entire album was recorded in three days. It features a guest appearance by Bobby Bare on the tribute song “Missing Ol’ Johnny Cash”. The release of the album was announced for June 2, 2015.

Everyone asks “what exactly do you do Jessica?” What some of my family members say, “she tweets for a living” is my favorite, but really the title that puts food on the table is “Social Media Influencer,” the definition sounds simple, someone who influences others through social media, but I consider myself a Citizen Journalist broadcasting and entertaining with news, thoughts, opinions, delivering information in my own unique way. Famous for my ‘sass wit and straight from the hip’ style I’ve always been called a “Social Media Pioneer” in the music industry. I’m also an On-Air/Online Broadcasting Host and Personality, Digital Media Strategist, Country and Music Blogger/Journalist as well as a Nationally recognized Speaker and Founder of Country Music Chat, News and Views Entertainment Website CMChatLIVE.com. My favorite accomplishment is starting the largest Country Music Hashtag community in the world Country Music’s #CMChat. It all started with a hunch...back in the early 2000’s I would dial up the internet via AOL and join chat rooms whilst watching my favorite programs on TV. Loved watching Reality Shows with my Mom in Tucson, and blowing her mind with how I always knew who was going home on the Bachelor or Big Brother. Don’t think she ever caught on that I was talking to people via computer on the East Coast, where it had already aired. (We didn’t have the uber-spoiler Twitter or Facebook to ruin results and awards shows for us yet.) I’ve been taking over the internet, one tweet at a time and have accumulated over 3 Million followers/friends/fans across all my Social Media networks. Over the years I’ve been consistently ranked as an influential online personality and even named as a Forbes Top 50 Social Media Power Influencer. I was the first person Merle Haggard followed when he got on Twitter and spent the day with Garth Brooks at Twitter and Facebook when joined the social media world.
