Every week in Country Music #CMchat’s #DigitalDuel we will be featuring songs for you to vote on. The songs might be related, might be different covers, or have no relation at all. Once they’re posted, it’s up to you – the fans – to spread the word and hash it out to win the #DigitalDuel. Simple enough?
Here’s your new challenge:
This week, two songs about night were sent to country music radio for adds. Both James Otto and Tate Stevens are vying for some time on the airwaves, but Dustin Lynch beat then to the punch by releasing “Hell of a Night” a few weeks back. Each song has a different version of what happens at nightfall, but all are centralized around the theme. This week, we ask you to vote for your favorite in the ‘Night Battle.’ Give each song a listen and don’t forget to vote in this digital duel!
Seven years ago, James Otto took “Just Got Started Loving You” all the way to #1 at country radio. After a few more attempts were made to take him to the top, he was dropped from his label. “Somewhere Tonight” is James’ first single since 2010 and is sure to leave a great impression among his fans and bound to gain him a few new fans as well. Give the song a listen and vote below in this ‘Night Battle.’
Dustin Lynch released his second single from his sophomore album, Where It’s At, to radio earlier this month. The song is already making it’s way up the charts. His previous single, “Where It’s At,” made it all the way to #1 at country radio and he has gained quite the fan base over the last few years. Will he be able to reach the same success with “Hell of a Night”? Vote below if you feel this song should make it to the #1 spot.
Tate Stevens made his way to fame by winning the TV Competition, The X Factor. He released his debut album shortly after winning, but is heading back in the studio to record his next project. This time instead of putting the album in the hand of a label, he is using Kickstarter to give the fans a voice in the project. “Better at Night” is the first song being released off of the project, with more to come. Give the song a listen and let us know what you think by voting.
You’ve got ’em now! Three songs with night in the title, but three very different selections. Which song will reign supreme? Can Dustin Lynch pull off the win or will the millions that voted for Tate Stevens ban together to pull it off? We also can’t forget that James Otto has the Muzik Mafia behind him! Who will be crowned the winner in this head-to-head battle? Vote for your pick in this week’s #DigitalDuel.
