Jon Pardi “Heartache On The Dancefloor” – Review

It’s all about the boots. Sometimes you kick them off at the door. Sometimes they kick you out the door.

“Heartache On The Dance Floor” is the third single off Jon Pardi’s sophomore album California Sunrise. The first two singles, “Head Over Boots” and “Dirt On My Boots,” both charted #1 hits for the ACM New Male Vocalist of the Year.

Written by Pardi with producer Bart Butler and Brice Long, “Heartache” tells the story of a guy who goes to a local Venice Beach-type bar and sees a beautiful California girl dancing. He wishes he had the courage to talk to her, but he can’t even muster up enough to find out her name.

The Northern California native stays true to his desire to make music that has a classic country sound with blue-collar lyrics. Pardi commented on the album that was released last year, “There’s a growing audience for throwback. People want to hear somebody who really enjoyed the ‘90s country music era and brings that to 2016 country. A lot of this record is bringing an old-school flare back to a mainstream sound, but that gives me my own lane.”

Pardi is currently on Dierks Bentley’s What The Hell World Tour. He will also be opening for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s Soul2Soul Tour at stops in Nebraska and Oklahoma.
