Eager for More After a First Listen of Jordan Davis’ ‘Home State’ Album

On Tuesday night, Chicago’s famed country radio station, US99, hosted a first listen of Jordan Davis’ brand new album, Home State. Davis performed the tracks off of his new album in a stripped-down, acoustic format at the renowned Joe’s on Weed Street in Chicago.

Though Jordan Davis is new on the country radio scene, he is no stranger to playing Joe’s on Weed Street. However, this was his first time playing a show there alone and not as direct support for a band. Whenever a show presents an acoustic setup, it’s easy to lose some of the momentum and “surprise” that happens with a full band experience. Davis made sure to keep the energy up throughout his performance, and the full band elements were not missed, as proven in this clip of him singing “Tough to tie Down.”

If you’re not already aware, Jordan Davis has a brother who is also a country music artist. Jordan shared some memories about his brother, Jacob Davis, that helped to set the scene for a song that they wrote together. This clip of “Detours” written by the Davis duo is a sweet piece of gratitude for the things that didn’t go as planned because they eventually led to love.

When a song can make you dance and shake your head in agreement, it’s bound to be a crowd favorite. Such is so with “Singles You Up.” The single has gained some serious momentum on country radio and is on pace to become Jordan Davis’ first number one charting song! Here’s what Chicago sounds like singing “Singles You Up” live with Jordan Davis at Joe’s on Weed!

The show ran flawlessly and I believe Davis gained quite a few new fans that night who are all eager for more. It wasn’t until the end of the show when Jordan realized the warm, candlelit ambiance on the stage (I’m blaming it on the whiskey shots that fans kept sending up to him) and he commented

“Damn! I feel like I’m in my living room. I could just light a cigar and get blasted up in here.”

Same, Davis, same.

If you like his music, be sure to request his latest single, “Singles You Up” to your local country station, and purchase his debut album, Home State or stream it on Spotify.
