Jordan Davis is just getting started in country music and I first heard him on The Bobby Bones Show. Davis didn’t start in country music though but by his sound, you would never know. After graduating from LSU, he made the move and started his journey as a songwriter after his brother, Jacob Davis, encouraged him. He’s currently working on an album through Universal Music Group.
His new single, “Singles You Up” is a jam. It has such a great melody, but the beat is what hooks you. It’s a song you’ll be listening to with your friends’ or for the 100th time sitting alone. I love how versatile this song is. You could hear it in a bar or at a coffee joint. That’s what makes this song perfect for radio.
“‘Singles You Up’ is a song title that came from congratulating my co-writer on his recent engagement. We started reminiscing about old memories in college bars when we would see certain girls in not so great relationships and think we could be better boyfriends for them if we ever got the chance,” says Jordan. “We joked he was smart not to ‘single her up’ and thought it was a creative phrase. The rest of the song flowed from there.”
The title, creative and insightful, is such a great saying. What if the person you wanted to be with was already with someone. What would you do? This song is exactly that. Still, I can’t believe “Singles You Up” came from a newcomer, but give Davis time and he’ll soon be a household name.
