Singer, songwriter, and musician, Kacey Musgraves, recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and treated the audience and at-home viewers to quite the surprise. For the first time on television, Kacey performed her song “The Trailer Song,” which was written by the talented country artist, along with singer/songwriter Brandy Clark, and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Shane McAnally.
“The Trailer Song” explores the stereotypical trailer park life, where the neighbors are meddling in one another’s business, judging a particular way of life (despite the similarities between them), and wandering on to other residents’ properties, believing it is a right of passage. Kacey, however, portrays a character in the song who has a completely different agenda — and that is living in peace, quiet, and solitary confinement, at least as far as her neighbors are concerned. The chorus of this staple tour song for Kacey goes “keep your two cents on your side of the fence, girl we ain’t friends we’re just neighbors. Nothing to see here, go back to your trailer.”
Kacey also excited fans by releasing the song to iTunes today, fresh off the heels of her performance on Fallon. Check out the video below, and make sure you visit iTunes and download your copy of “The Trailer Song.”
