Looks like winning a Grammy does some good when it comes to album and song sales. Just ask Kacey Musgraves. After nabbing two Grammys this year at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Country Song (“Merry Go ‘Round) and Best Country Album (Same Trailer Different Park), Musgraves’ album Same Trailer Different Park not only returned to the top spot on Billboard’s Country Albums chart since its debut, but sold a whopping 27,288 units! This means that Kacey’s debut album is nearing closer to Gold status (500,000 copies sold) with almost 343,000 sold according to Soundscan.
You can also accredit this bump in sales due to her performance of “Follow Your Arrow” during the live event. The performance must have encouraged listeners to race to their iTunes accounts because the song saw a 98% increase in sales with 56,359 tracks being sold. The song is the No. 2 Country track this week and has a total download of 325,377 according to Soundscan.
According to Soundscan, Musgrave’s GRAMMY-winning song, “Merry Go ‘Round,” also received a 84% increase this week with sales of 15,155 to a total of just over 820,000.
