Where are you answering these questions from & what are you wearing ( Be sure and include a selfie exclusive for cmchatlive!)
I’m currently in my apartment and about 6 inches away from my space heater. I’m wearing a black tee and the best pants ever! They’re from The Elephant Pants (from “Shark Tank”) where a portion of the proceeds goes to saving the elephants! Oh, and they’re super cute and comfy!
What’s your official title and favorite thing about what you do?
Well, I’m not sure that I’ve given myself an ‘official title,’ but I am a Singer/Songwriter! My favorite thing about it is a live performance! Out of all the stuff I get to do, being on stage and singing/playing, that’s the best feeling in the world.
What are 3 things you CANNOT live without?
· My Jane Austen collection
· Dry shampoo
What’s the first concert you’ve ever attended?
Hmm when I was younger, I’m pretty sure it was Cheetah Girls. The first concert that I will never forget though was Taylor Swift!
How long have you been playing music?
I began with piano lessons when I was about six, and I started singing when I was eight. For the last five years or so, I’ve been playing guitar and currently, I’m having fun learning the ukulele!
What’s the hardest life lesson you’ve learned?
That you can’t control other people’s actions. You just have to take the situations that life throws at you and all you can do is choose your own actions, and not others. That’s the most you can do!
Do you have a favorite restaurant or hang out spot in music city?
I have two! For a hangout spot, I love The Well. It’s a coffee shop with a cool vibe and it benefits a non-profit at the same time; oh and they’re adding a stage soon! Then for a restaurant, I’m obsessed with The Flipside! My favorite sandwich is the Popeye with a side of tater tots!
If you could duet with any male artist, who would you pick and why?
Brett Eldredge! His songs and vocals are incredible and I just feel like he would be an awesome person to hang out with on stage.
Who is your favorite country singer from the 90s?
Besides music, do you have any other talents or hobbies?

Do you have a favorite place to perform?
Well, there’s two places that I’m hoping to be able to go back soon and perform because they were absolute favorites! The Arlington Levitt Pavilion and the Main Stage at the State Fair of Texas!
What’s one gift you will never forget?
I’d have to say a canvas painting that my sister made for me! It’s currently hanging on the wall in my room. It’s this gorgeous sunset against the ocean with some of my favorite song lyrics from ‘Oceans‘ by Hillsong United on it.
What current event has your eyes and ears? What are you doing about it? (perfect for any charity you’ve worked with or will be working with etc we just try to stay away from political topics)
One charity that I’ve been involved with for a while now is The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. There’s an annual event each January called the Big D Climb that I’m trying to mentally and physically prepare for. We climb to the top of the tallest tower (70 flights of stairs) in Dallas, all for a good cause!
How do you think songwriters play a vital role in music today?
Songwriting is the core of the music business. There’s such a creative side to it, that is often overlooked. On an artistic note, there wouldn’t be a music business without songwriters. It’s really the bread and butter behind it all.
What’s one superpower you wish you had?
Do I have to choose just one? Okay fine, I would pick shapeshifting. To completely transform in an instance. Like, boom your hair and makeup are already done or you could look like anyone you wanted. I might be exposing my fascination for spy movies!
You’re making your favorite sandwich… what’s on it?
You have to have mustard and mayo, then turkey and cheddar cheese. Next, lettuce and about 8 million tomatoes and then you’re good. If I’m feeling really fancy I’ll take (store bought) chicken salad and put it on bread.
Name one artist of any genre besides country that you are a fan of and tell us why?
Ben Rector! He’s one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to! His stage presence is just phenomenal and his lyrics are brilliant and so relatable!

Fill in the blank: Country music inspires me because …
It’s based on storytelling. I feel like country music more than any other genre stays true to storytelling from start to finish. It’s inspirational as a fan, listener and a musician.
