Country firecracker Kellie Pickler is back with a brand new single that harkens back to her early Small Town Girl days.
“Feeling Tonight” is certainly a departure from her previous two critically acclaimed albums 100 Proof and The Woman I Am in both style and substance. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. When it comes to Pickler, she’s just as confident singing a breezy country pop number like her new single as she is spitting fire in a song like “Tough.”
Pickler fans will immediately draw comparisons to one of her biggest hits “Red High Heels” where she utilizes repetition in the chorus for effect. But “Feeling Tonight” is certainly not a sassy in your face song like “Red High Heels.”
Penned by Sarah Buxton, Josh Osbourne and Jimmy Rogers and produced by Kyle Jacobs and Matt McClure, “Feeling Tonight” is a perfect summery song for those longing to get away with that special someone that you’ve been pining for…even if you aren’t certain if that special someone is even thinking about you.
“I’m really excited about this song,” Picker says, “and I’m looking forward to performing it on tour this summer.”
And I’m hoping I’ll get a chance to hear it live.
