#ICYMI: @Kelly_Clarkson, @MirandaLambert & @Reba Sang Together and Blew Our Minds

With the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards officially in the books, it’s safe to say that there were certainly some highs and lows during the course of the show. While some could argue against the format, the performers or the hosts, there was one thing that no one was arguing about today, and that was a show stealing performance by Kelly Clarkson, Miranda Lambert & Reba McEntire.

The performance was a celebration of Reba, who won the first-ever Nash Icon Award, presented by Kix Brooks. Daughter-in-law Clarkson and Lambert took the stage first, serenading McEntire with a pair of her biggest hits, trading harmonies on “How Blue” and making me wonder why they have yet to record a duet together. After “How Blue,” Clarkson was set free to wail on “Take It Back,” and I immediately think country music should sing “Don’t you wanna stay?” to Kelly Clarkson.

The powerhouse pair then launched into “Fancy” before being joined by the woman of the hour herself, while Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Sara Evans and everyone in America sang along. It was truly one of the best award show performances I’ve seen in a loooooong time.
