Putting a very easy-on-the-ears voice and a girl-next-door look all behind a catchy melody would seem like a sure-fire way to become a female country star. If that’s true, singer/songwriter Krista Angelucci is already ahead of the game. And with a very commercial sound it wouldn’t surprise me one bit if we all start hearing a little more of Krista in the near future.
From the very beginning, the Massachusetts native’s family has always had her support and encouraged her music career. “I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember,” said Krista. “When I was three, I was going around the house singing commercials. At eight years old I had my first solo in church, and it was probably around then when my family realized that singing was already my passion.” Voice lessons would soon follow, as well as her being introduced to country music in her high school years.
“My dad always said [Martina McBride and Faith Hill types of songs] fit my voice, and when I started really listening to country, I realized it was who I am as an artist,” said Krista. “I feel that with country music, you can sing about anything– love, faith, a broken heart—things I’ve experienced in life so far.”
But it’s not just her voice that has the potential to take her to where she wants to be; it’s her live shows that always catch attention and show she is made to perform. “I love being on stage– it feels like home to me,” Krista says. Krista’s performances and hard work have gained her opportunities to open for and shared the stage with artists such as Chuck Wicks, Lee Brice, Big & Rich, Hunter Hayes, Chris Cagle and Jerrod Niemann. She has competed and won many local and national singing competitions including being named the New Hampshire and New England Country Female Entertainer of 2009.
Angelucci released her debut album Like It or Not in September 2012 and can be bought on iTunes.
