Just as “Freestyle” isn’t your typical Lady Antebellum song, its video isn’t your typical Lady Antebellum video. While it does include shots of the band performing and goofing around, its star is surprisingly not Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott or Dave Haywood. For the trio’s second single off of the stellar 747, they enlisted quite the scene-stealer.
Enter comedian/ dancer / video director Nathan Barnatt also known as Keith Apicary, who steals the show in the video with his sweet moves.
Apicary plays the role of a devoted Lady A fan whose only goal is to get his CD signed. He treks through New York City, determined to get their signatures, falling short at their Today Show appearance and at their pre-show meet and greet. He gushes about the trio to his cab driver and busts out some insane dance moves all over NYC’s most famous locations.
Apparently it only takes a cowboy hat and a band T-shirt to get past security at a Lady A concert and that’s just what our superfan-hero does, crashing the stage with some crazy moves.
The rest, they say, is history. Make sure to stay ’til the credits for some extra humor.
