Kentucky spitfire Laura Bell Bundy is ready to show the world another piece of her when Big Machine Records drops her first album for the label on June 9 the same day she joins us for a Twitterview at 2:30pPT/5:30pET!
Another Piece of Me, Bundy’s first studio album since 2010’s Achin’ and Shakin’, promises to take the multi-talented actress of stage and screen to new depths with songs that reveal an inner look into her life as she co-wrote and co-produced more than half of the albums 15 tracks while also collaborating with producers Nathan Chapman, Jay DeMarcus and Tyler Cain.
“Much of my career has involved playing characters that have been created for me, but this album is something completely different and the most personal body of work I’ve ever done…it is the real me,” Bundy explains. “I’m thrilled to show fans that we all have a spectrum of emotions throughout our lives.”
Of her new songs, she says that “China and Wine” and the title track are “more introspective,” reflecting how she has “dealt with the occasional sadness and messiness that life throws you.”
Fans of the bubbly singer shouldn’t fear that Bundy has lost her sense of fun though. Two previously released songs, raucous country dance tracks “Kentucky Dirty” and “Two Step” (with country rapper Colt Ford), both appear on Another Piece of Me.
In the end Bundy hopes her new album gives new and old fans a new appreciation for her work and who she is as a person.
“I hope everyone truly feels like they know Another Piece of Me after listening,” Bundy concludes.
From now until the record’s June 9 release, Bundy will reveal candid new content including photos, video, audio snippets and behind-the-song stories across her social media platforms. Another Piece of Me will be available for pre-order on May 26 – with two full tracks made available leading up to its official release.
