[email protected]’s “Girls In Bikinis” – Inevitable Summer Anthem?

We think so!

During #ChevyCMA, we had the unique opportunity to visit the Sirius XM The Highway studio and attend an acoustic Lee Brice performance, interview, and preview of his new album, I Don’t Dance. While I Don’t Dance won’t be released until August 9th, Lee has been giving fans a little bit more of an idea what they can expect from him on his next offering. These expectations can include a song about girls wearing bikinis, comparing the girls to Slinkies, and talking about the way they strut around the beaches; a song which we were privileged to get a sneak peek of during CMA Fest. In listening to the aptly titled “Girls In Bikinis,” fans also will notice brief parts of “Honky Tonk Women” as Lee begs “give me, give me … girls in bikinis.”

The song, which Lee joked about writing during his “Super Fan Party” at the Sirius studio at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, has been requested endlessly since he leaked the track to a live audience and eager Sirius XM radio subscribers. And, in true The Highway fashion, the station has obliged and “Girls In Bikinis” has been playing fairly often this first week of summer. As more people hear the song, we anticipate that the requests will fly in left and right and The Highway will continue to fulfill what listeners are asking for, solidifying the track as a 2014 Summer anthem.

With its catchy beat, comedic lyrics, and clever inclusion of a recognizable part of a hit song, Lee’s fun, light-hearted ode to half-naked women is comprised of the equation for success. If you haven’t heard this track yet, check out the video below from a live performance (featuring Lee’s wife, Sara), and don’t forget to keep requesting “Girls In Bikinis” by tweeting @SXMTheHighway!
